At Middleton, we use the Project Lead The Way (PLTW) curriculum as a foundation, to guide our STEAM class. We also use Scratch Jr., Scratch, Code.org, Tinkercad, and a variety of other programming platforms to ensure students are enjoying themselves and effectively reaching their STEAM goals. Enjoy the video below from Project Lead The Way, highlighting and championing STEAM. For more information click here: https://www.pltw.org/our-programs/pltw-launch
Synchronous Schedule - With asynchronous help after if schedule permitting for teacher and students

Standards for each grade are below in student-friendly language:
1st Grade Students solve problems by asking questions, sharing and trying ideas. Students create a plan to solve a problem. Students use technology to help solve a problem. Students give their best effort on a challenging problem. Students complete different jobs when solving a problem.
2nd Grade Students use the design process to explore, create, test, and improve ideas. Students identify how technology is used to make problems easier. Students working together use technology to help understand and solve a problem. Students give their best effort on a challenging problem. Students complete different jobs when solving a problem.
3rd Grade Students use the design process and appropriate tools to create a solution. Students break down problems into smaller parts and propose solutions. Students use technology that helps them work together to solve real world problems. Students persevere on challenging problems. Students perform different roles on a team when solving a problem.
4th Grade Students use the design process and appropriate tools to create a solution. Students break down problems into smaller parts and propose solutions. Students use technology that helps them work together to solve real world problems. Students persevere on challenging problems. Students perform different roles on a team when solving a problem.
5th Grade Students use the design process to solve authentic problems. Students break down problems into smaller parts to solve problems. Students use technology collaboratively to identify and solve real world problems. Students persevere together on challenging problems. Students select appropriate roles on a team when solving a problem.
